Tides
in Cowichan Bay range from a high of approximately 14 feet to a low
of minus (-1) foot. Click the graphic below for current tides from Fisheries
and Oceans Canada. Another good source of information on world-wide
tides can be found at
WWW. Tides. INFO. The tidal
waters of Cowichan Bay are often covered by a fresh water lenses that
mariners should consider. The bay is the estuary for both the Cowichan
& Kokisilah rivers. Both rivers are home to a large salmon migration
every autumn. Active and effective enhancement programs are in place
to restore Cowichan Bay to its former title as the "Salmon Capital
of the World'.
